Thank you for volunteering to coach this year for AYSO 163!!
Please note the following required meetings and classes.
If you have not already done so, please complete the following:
Step #1 - fill out a volunteer form online at www.ayso163.org. All volunteers must fill out or update a volunteer form every year. You cannot be accepted as a volunteer or take a class without an up-to-date volunteer form.
Step #2 - using the AYSO ID# from your volunteer form, sign up for the appropriate Coach, Concussion and Safe Haven courses online at www.ayso163.org. Click on the AYSOU tab underneath the logo. Click on MY Courses. Coach courses, Concussion and Safe Haven need only be taken once.
You must be certified at the level at which you intend to coach.
Step #3 - If you are U10 Division or higher, you must also take a field course. Please make sure you sign the roster when you take the course. You can sign up for the course online at www.ayso163.org. Click on AYSOU tab.
You can find a course session in one of two ways: either by locating the course under the Live Courses tab or under the My Courses tab (locate the Instructor Led Courses folder).
The Live Courses tab displays upcoming courses/course sessions from different disciplines together, whereas the Instructor Led Courses folder in the My Courses tab displays each discipline and course separately so you can filter as needed.
AYSO 163 will reimburse you for any charges incurred for the background check or courses.
This sounds like a lot, but most of it need only be done once in your AYSO career. And most of it can be done online.
Attend a Coach Meeting - Monday, August 28
150 Boardman Court, Lake Bluff
6:00 PM - 7:00 PM U6 and U8 Divisions
7:30 PM - 8:00 PM U10, U12, and U14 Divisions
The coach meetings will provide an overview of the coaching program for your division. U10, U12 and U14 coaches will pick up their team uniforms at the meeting. All coaches will pick up their equipment bags at the meeting.
There will be a coaching clinic on Sunday, August 20, 11 am - noon @ Northcroft Park, 1365 South Ridge Road, Lake forest, upper field.
U8 - Referee Course - Please go over the online referee course online. Cick the AYSOU tab on the website.
