Some Notes on Volunteering to Referee

  • Referees are scheduled based on their availability.
  • Attending the Referee Training does not obligate you to referee a certain number of games, or even to referee every weekend.
  • U8 Officials will generally referee their own player’s games (hey, you’re going to be there anyway, right?).
  • Assistant Referees, if they are available and needed, will run the lines for their own player’s games (once again…you’re going to be there anyway, right?).
  • Assistant Referees are also welcome to assist with other games.
  • Regional Referees may assist with their own player’s games, if needed, and may also volunteer to assist or center referee other games as needed and/or desired.
