Thank you for volunteering to coach this year for AYSO 163!!
Please note the following required meetings and classes.
If you have not already done so, please complete the following:
Step #1 - fill out a volunteer form online at www.eayso.org. All volunteers must fill out or update a volunteer form every year. You cannot be accepted as a volunteer or take a class without an up-to-date volunteer form. If you are a new volunteer, please print out a copy of your form and send it to Debbie Gallagher at 150 Boardman Court, Lake Bluff, IL 60044. Returning volunteers only need to esign the form after updating.
Step #2 - using the AYSO ID# from your volunteer form, sign up for the appropriate Coach and Safe Haven courses online at www.ayso.org. Click on Online Training on the top bar. Coach courses and Safe Haven need only be taken once.
Step #3 - If you are U10 Division or higher, you must also take a field course. Please make sure you sign the roster when you take the course. You can sign up for the course online at www.eayso.org. Click on enroll to take a course, lower right.
Step #4 - Take concussion training online at www.ayso.org. Click on Online Training on the top bar. Then certification and training on the left hand side. Login using your AYSO ID#. Concussion Training is on the bottom left. Please send a copy of your certificate (with your name printed on it) to Debbie Gallagher, 150 Boardman Court, Lake Bluff, IL 60044. CONCUSSION TRAINING IS MANDATORY.
This sounds like a lot, but most of it need only be done once in your AYSO career.
And most of it can be done online.

U10 - MANDATORY FOR U10 COACHES - Saturday, August 27, 1 - 3 PM

Complete an Online Volunteer Application
with AYSO, at http://www.eayso.org. If you are a new volunteer, print and mail your completed volunteer form to Debbie Gallagher, 150 Boardman Court, Lake Bluff, IL 60044. She will respond with your AYSO volunteer number. You may need this number for additional online training, so please complete and mail your form as soon as possible! ALL Volunteers are required to submit this form annually.
Complete Safe Haven Training
Now available Online! Log on to www.aysotraining.org and complete the SafeHaven training if you have not already had this training. SafeHaven training is REQUIRED for all coaches, assistant coaches and referees. You need only complete the training once in your AYSO career.
Complete Coach Certification Training
You must be certified at the level at which you intend to coach.
U6, U8 & U10 Coaches training is available online; log on to http://www.aysotraining.org to complete the written portion of this training.
- The U-10 coach course is required by AYSO national. The class part of the course may be taken on-line and takes about one hour. A coach needs to complete both class and field portions to earn the U-10 certification.
- U-12 certification classes will be offered - dates TBA. U-12 certification is a pre-requisite for U-14 certification
- EXP coaches must apply for the position. Contact the
EXP Co-ordinator or the Regional Commissioner for a form
- All EXP coaches must be U12 Certified.
